A Palestinian rights group argues that the Israeli army violated the rules of war, which include giving adequate warning to civilians, using proportionate force and distinguishing between civilians and combatants.

“We were helping people and they (the Israeli) were striking us with the F16. We couldn’t help the civilians that were injured, children and women, what happened was not normal,”

Israel Grants Oil Rights in Syria to Murdoch and Rothschild

Another major cause of conflict was Syria’s resistance to Israel’s creation of a National Water Carrier to take water from the Jordan River to supply the country. The Syrian army used the Golan Heights, which tower 3,000 feet above the Galilee, to shell Israeli farms and villages. Syria’s attacks grew more frequent in 1965 and 1966, forcing children living on kibbutzim in the Huleh Valley to sleep in bomb shelters. Israel repeatedly protested the Syrian bombardments to the UN Mixed Armistice Commission, which was charged with policing the cease-fire, but the UN did nothing to stop Syria’s aggression — even a mild Security Council resolution expressing “regret” for such incidents was vetoed by the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, Israel was condemned by the United Nations when it retaliated.

The Garner case wasn’t the first time Pantaleo, 29, was accused of misconduct, however.

Darren Collins and Tommy Rice alleged in a 2013 federal court lawsuit that Pantaleo and at least four other officers subjected them to “humiliating and unlawful strip searches in public view” after handcuffing them during a March 2012 arrest on Staten Island.

The court complaint charged that the cops, searching for illegal drugs, “pulled down the plaintiffs’ pants and underwear, and touched and searched their genital areas, or stood by while this was done in their presence.”

Pantaleo and three of the officers repeated the searches after they took the suspects to Staten Island’s 120th police precinct, the complaint alleged.

Charges against Collins and Rice, who said they had done nothing wrong, ultimately were dismissed and sealed. The city settled their lawsuit last year, court records show.

Separately, Rylawn Walker alleged that Pantaleo and other cops falsely arrested him on Staten Island for alleged marijuana possession in February 2012. His federal lawsuit against the cops maintained that Walker “was committing no crime at that time and was not acting in a suspicious manner.“Kenneth Collins, a 22-year-old Staten Island man, in November filed a lawsuit alleging that Pantaleo and other police officers violated his rights during a February 2012 marijuana arrest. Along with being arrested falsely, he “was subjected to a degrading search of his private parts and genitals by the defendants,” the court complaint charged.

the death of Eric Garner, 43, the man he wrestled to the ground during an attempted arrest for selling untaxed cigarettes on a Staten Island sidewalk in July, sparked waves of angry though largely peaceful demonstrations in several cities.

12-year-old Tamir Rice died in a Cleveland park. Tim Loehmann  has returned to work from administrative leave, but is not back on patrol.

Two years ago, when he was working for a police department in a Cleveland suburb, Tim Loehmann participated in firearms qualification training.

Loehmann struggled with the exercise, according to a memo penned Nov. 29, 2012, by Jim Polak, deputy chief of the Independence Police Department and obtained Wednesday by Northeast Ohio Media Group. He was “distracted” and “weepy,” Polak wrote, and did not seem “mentally prepared” for the task.

“He could not follow simple directions, could not communicate clear thoughts nor recollections, and his handgun performance was dismal,” Polak wrote.

Records show he fell asleep during firearms training, was often seen crying and once left his gun inside an unsecured locker joined the department in Cleveland last March.

COPS AWARDS POLICE TRAINING GRANT TO ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE / U.S. HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL MUSEUM PROGRAM

Program funded by grant draws on negative lessons from Holocaust to train police

The U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) announced a $100 thousand grant to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to support a joint ADL/United States Holocaust Memorial Museum program, Law Enforcement and Society: Lessons of the Holocaust.

The training program was conceived when Washington, D.C. Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey visited the Holocaust Museum in 1998. Deeply impacted by what he saw, he asked the ADL and the Museum to develop a training program for his officers. Since that time, the program has become a required training component for nine Washington area law enforcement agencies, a mandatory part of training for all new FBI agents, and has trained more than 14,000 officers.

The COPS Office is a federal agency responsible for advancing community policing nationwide and supporting state and local law enforcement agencies. Since 1995, COPS has invested $9.6 billion to advance community policing, including nearly 32,000 grants awarded to almost 13,000 state and local law enforcement agencies to hire more than 116,000 officers.

Some media have cited anonymous sources alleging that the pair also attempted to purchase pipe bombs.

…the paranoid style animating the belief that the better part of the Islamic world does not hold legitimate grievances against the United States over its foreign policies, but rather that “they hate us for our freedom.” Thus the basis of the utterly preposterous belief that there is a threat of the imposition of “sharia law” on Western societies or that the non-violent activism of groups like the Muslim Brotherhood poses a more dangerous threat than al-Qaeda. Indeed, Hofstadter wrote:

“Since the enemy is thought of as being totally evil and totally unappeasable, he must be totally eliminated—if not from the world, at least from the theater of operations to which the paranoid directs his attention. This demand for total triumph leads to the formulation of hopelessly unrealistic goals, and since these goals are not even remotely attainable, failure constantly heightens the paranoid’s sense of frustration.”

For media liberals and others to smugly ascribe this paranoid style as the province of the nationalist right is therefore dubious at best, and arguably a deliberate avoidance of the more disturbing questions it raises. The U.S. media is complicit in the belief that “the world” is “at war” with some kind of global Islamist conspiracy against all that is right and true. Coverage of the Norway attacks proved the media’s inherent bias—witness the conflation of the word “terrorism” with an Islamic conspiracy.

1990, when federal agents discovered that secret Bureau
records on American black Muslims had been obtained
by South African spies.

Far from living up to its thoroughly undeserved and
self-promoted reputation, the Anti-Defamation League
has been caught by San Francisco police investigators:

• illegally spying on at least 950 political organiza-
tions, including the National Association for the Ad-
vancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Rainbow
Coalition, Greenpeace, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the
United Auto Workers, the Christie Institute, New Jewish
Agenda, Operation Rescue, the Liberty Lobby, the Nation
of Islam, the United Farm Workers, Act-Up, the American
Civil liberties Union, the National Lawyers Guild, the Bo
Gritz Presidential Campaign and the political movement
led by Lyndon LaRouche;LaRouche movement promotes a revival of classical art and a greater commitment to science;

Lawsuits[edit]
In 1979, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was sued by the U.S. Labor Party, the National Caucus of Labor Committees, and several individuals including Konstandinos Kalimtgis, Jeffrey Steinberg, and David Goldman, who claimed libel, slander, invasion of privacy, and assault on account of the ADL’s accusations of anti-Semitism.[156] A New York State Supreme Court judge ruled that it was “fair comment” to describe them as anti-Semites.[157][158]

United States v. Kokinda was heard by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1990. The case concerned the First Amendment rights of LaRouche movement members on Post Office property. The Deputy Solicitor General arguing the government’s case was future Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts.[159] The Court confirmed the convictions of Marsha Kokinda and Kevin Pearl, volunteers for the National Democratic Policy Committee, finding that the Postal Service’s regulation of solicitors was reasonable.[160]

Characterizations[edit]
According to a biography produced by the LaRouche-affiliated Schiller Institute, the movement is based on a commitment to “a just new world economic order,” specifically “the urgency of affording what have been sometimes termed ‘Third World nations,’ their full rights to perfect national sovereignty, and to access to the improvement of their educational systems and economies through employment of the most advanced science and technology.”[161]
